What is The Gilgamesh Society? đź”Ť

Ubi Scientia Mortem Repugnat

Hidden behind the polished doors of a respected medical charity lies one of the darkest organizations in the HamWeg Galaxy — the Gilgamesh Society.

To the outside world, the Society appears to be an altruistic nonprofit devoted to curing devastating diseases such as cancer and dementia. Its laboratories promise hope, its research attracts admiration, and its founder, Dr. Wolfgang Frankenstein, is celebrated as a brilliant physician in biochemical genetics and molecular robotics.

But hope is merely the Society’s disguise.

Behind closed doors, Dr. Frankenstein pursues a far more dangerous ambition: unlocking the secret of immortality by combining modern science, cybernetic technology, and forbidden alchemy. Through secret arrangements with prisons and mental institutions, the Gilgamesh Society gains access to human subjects for horrifying experiments many of whom never leave its laboratories alive.

Meet Dr. Frankenstein

Cold, calculating, and consumed by his desire to conquer mortality, Dr. Frankenstein believes death is not an unavoidable fate, but a scientific problem waiting to be solved.

His greatest opportunity arrives at Mountain Gate Prison, where the condemned Colonel Emerson Savage awaits execution for the murder of Clark Savage Sr. Emerson is no ordinary prisoner.

Created by the criminal organization S.P.I.D.E.R., he is a genetically engineered clone who has endured countless experiments designed to push his body and mind beyond normal human limits.

With the assistance of Mountain Gate’s corrupt warden, Stefan Lamarr, and his macabre aide Igor, Dr. Frankenstein claims Emerson’s body moments after his execution. He removes the prisoner’s brain, saturates it with a powerful alchemical brew, and prepares to accomplish what no scientist before him has achieved.

Using an ancient tome discovered by the Gilgamesh Society, Frankenstein transfers Emerson’s brain into a monstrous body assembled from cybernetic machinery and cadaver parts. Computerized electricity surges through the creation.

A heart monitor begins to beep.

The experiment breathes and Dr. Frankenstein becomes the master of life and death—if only for a moment….

The Birth of Mastermind

When the creature awakens, the memories and personality of Emerson Savage merge with its new mechanical and reanimated form.

What rises from the laboratory is no longer merely a prisoner, a clone, or an experiment.

Wrapped in a dark cloak, encased in a brutal cybernetic body, and possessing a living brain exposed beneath its hood, Mastermind is a terrifying fusion of intellect, machinery, and resurrected flesh.

The creation immediately turns against its creator. Mastermind launches into a murderous rampage, killing Dr. Frankenstein and numerous innocent bystanders before disappearing into the shadows.

Mastermind begins gathering the shattered remnants of the Gilgamesh Society under its command. From those ruins, a new criminal organization rises — C.L.A.W.

With Mastermind at its center, C.L.A.W becomes a growing threat dedicated not to curing humanity but to controlling it.

The Gilgamesh Society sought to conquer death. Instead, it created something far worse.
